AS AN
API GATEWAY

In Standalone mode, MicroPerimeter™ Edge acts as a traditional API or Web Gateway, that is, it sits on your network a step away from your target service. This protects all inbound traffic and makes it easy to add OAuth and OIDC enforcement without altering your existing code or workloads. This also is your first step to visualizing traffic entering your ecosystem as all transactions are seamlessly logged. Use this for the fastest path to API and Application security. SIDECAR
FOR LINUX

You get security as close to your service as physically possible when you install the MicroPerimeter™ Sidecar on the same instance as your service (we support nearly any Linux system). This is done with a simple shell script that pulls the code from your local MicroPerimeter™ Dashboard (installed with Edge) and registers the service in the central repository which automatically provides a unique identifier for that service. Now all traffic, inbound our outbound, is tagged and logged, providing end-to-end “chain of custody” for your East/West, or core data transactions.

KUBERNETES

Our MicroPerimeter™ Sidecar was designed from the ground up to work with container orchestration. When deploying containers in a Kubernetes cluster, the MicroPerimeter™ Sidecar automatically registers with the central repository, inserts itself in the flow for all ingress and egress traffic, and provides true East/West tracking and security enforcement.
